Boston Applied Technologies Incorporated
Introduces Ultra-fast Optical Power Regulators

Woburn, MA, September 1, 2006 - Boston Applied Technologies, Incorporated (BATi), a leader in high speed optical power control technology, announces its introduction of ultra-fast optical power regulators/limiters (OPR).

BATi's ultra-fast OPR has a response time of 200 ns. It can maintain the output optical power at a constant level; counter the power fluctuations caused by PDL, channel add/drop, channel switching and so on. The unit can also be used as an optical power limiter to protect the down streams. It is offered in two versions: single-mode one or polarization-maintaining (PM) one.

The combination of ease of control with integrated power monitoring makes the unit an attractive choice for optical power stabilization, optical spikes suppression, noise filtering, and network protection. "This product is being deployed to BATi's first-tier customers." said Mr. Run Zhang, Vice President of Engineer.
